THE SCHOOL BRIEF HISTORY

St. Jean Baptiste Cyahinda Teacher Training College (TTC Cyahinda), formally known as G S St. J. B. Cyahinda is a goverment-aided Catholic school located in the Southern Province of Rwanda, Nyaruguru District, Cyahinda Sector .This school was founded 1964. The first students were the junior seminary from the period 1964 to 1979. After 1979 junior seminary students had left, their shelters (Buildings) were used by feminine technical trainings (familial).

GS St.J.B.Cyahinda/TTC as secondary school started its scholary activities in 1994 with three options namely: Secretariat, Arts and TTC (Teacher training center). In 1994 the school was disrupted by 1994 Rwanda Genocide against Tutsi. Thereafter, the school opened again the doors and profiled in 1999/2000 academic year to continue the school activities with the Ordinary level taking precidence over other options. From 1999 the school was offering ordinary level until 2010 when advanced level classes were introduced. Two options were started in senior four with MEG and HEG options. The following year another option was started in senior four with MPG, and then in 2012 there started the TTC. Since then, the name G S St J B Cyahinda changed to TTC St J Baptiste Cyahinda after elimination of existing combinations.
